Role of the academe in balancing the Tipping Point

We are calling for papers for the 21st International Conference of the International Sustainable Development Research Society for the track ‘Role of the academe in balancing the Tipping Point'. The track is conceptualized around recognition of the role of universities and academics in promoting understanding of and action concerning sustainability issues, particularly in relation to the need for transformative knowledge's, practices and structures. Papers could deal with one or more of the following themes in relation to sustainability and balancing the tipping point.

  • Knowledge building and theorizing
  • Teaching and learning in university courses
  • The role of academics in public advocacy
  • Framing university policy
  • Preparation for the professions
  • Researching transformative practices in the academy
  • Socio-cultural representations
